Jubilant Muslims on Provincial Autonomy Day swallow Identity of Pakistani Christians

Karachi: June 30, 2011. (PCP) “20 million Pakistani Christian will observe July 1, 2011 as Day of Mourning not as celebrations of Provincial Autonomy Day, as Pakistan People’s party PPP government have declared after implementation of 18th Amendment” said Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC here today in a statement issued by PCC Central Council Secretariat.

The Pashtuns of former province NWFP remain major beneficiary of 18th Amendment that their decade long outstanding demand give their province “Khyber Pakhtukhawa” name. Whereas, Balochi will be mourning like Christian who are dying for demands of provincial autonomy of Balochistan but guns have been turned on them,

The so-called democratic Islamic forces from Punjab, Sindh and NWFP succeeded in abolishing laws imposed by military dictator Zia-Ul-Haq under 8th Amendment in constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Moreover, enlightened Pakistani Muslims covered in 18th Amendment to remove Portrait of dictator Zia-Ul-Haq from Parliament Buildings but not Islamic laws imposed by him.

The 18th amendment revived rights of Muslim women but not touched sections of Prohibition and Hudd Ordinance of dictator Zia-Ul-Haq targeting equal rights of Christians, Ahmadi,s, Hindus and other religious minorities ensured under Section 8-19, in constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan of 1973.

The Muslim legislators and presenters of 18th amendment not dared to touch Blasphemy Law, Law of Evidence and Compensation and Article 2, of Constitution which are root cause of victimization and persecution of Christians, Hindus, Sikhs and Ahmadi community in Pakistan.

Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber-Pukhtunkhawa provinces never demanded Devolution of Federal Ministry of Minority Affairs which was identity of 20 million Pakistani Christians in Federation of Pakistan.

“The Christians might have also celebrated July 1, 2011, as Provincial Autonomy Day, if like other laws Muslim majority have abolished blasphemy law and law of Evidence and Compensation in 18th Amendment  but instead of awarding any gift to Christians, government have taken from them Federal Minority Ministry which was token have their identity” said Nazir Bhatti

The Punjabi and Sindhi Muslims will be jubilant on devolution of Federal Minority Ministry to benefit from valuable Evacuee Properties under this ministry.

The issues of 20 million Pakistani Christians never related to provinces but their due share in Federation of Pakistan and equal democratic rights in constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Nazir Bhatti said that 18th Amendment is stab at back of Christian nation in Pakistan by PPP which nationalized missionary schools, colleges and hospital in 1972, and now have nationalized our Minority Ministry.
