We condemn the terrorist attacks at church on Christmas. Nazir Bhatti

New York. December 25. Mr. Nazir S Bhatti, chief of Pakistan Christian Congress have strongly condemned the terrorists attack on the Christian worshipers at Chianwali village in sub district Daska of Sialkot District. He said that we have urged the Jamali Government for security measures of Christian’s life and property after the church bombing in Kohlu in Balouchistan province last week. It was very surprising that bomb was thrown at Kohlu Church which is in the home province of newly sworn in Prime Minister of Pakistan Mir zafar ullah Jamali. Mr. Bhatti said that attacks on this small village church in Daska Sub district during the Christmas services are worst shape of Muslim militant terrorism in Pakistan.

The PCC chief Nazir Bhatti said that Government of Pakistan has not adopted necessary security measures for the Christians in Pakistan. He said that administration was fully aware that after the arrest of Parveez Masih under blasphemy laws from Daska sub division village, this area is very sensitive and under danger of Muslim militants threats but all the security measures were neglected in this area.

Mr. Bhatti said that after the terrorist attacks in Bahawalpur Church, Islamabad Church, Muree Christian School, Taxila hospital Church and Christian charity at Karachi, killing the innocent Christians, the government was suppose to tighten the security but same was neglected on the eve of Christmas in Pakistan. Mr. Bhatti said that we have been demanding the arrests of the militants involved in the incidents of the attacks on churches and bring them before justice but government has failed to produce any culprit in the courts of laws and those terrorists are still at large. Mr. Bhatti said that if the government have been serious to arrest the Muslim militants involved in the church attacks of Bahawalpur, Islamabad, Murree, Taxila and Karachi this sad incident of killing on the Christmas Eve would not have been happened.
Mr.Nazir S Bhatti urged the government to arrest the Muslim militants involved in the terrorist attack on the Christmas services at village Chianwali to stop any future attack on Christian worshipers.

Mr. Bhatti said that Chianwali is very small village in Sialkot district and terrorists attack on this village church have created fears among the Christians of Pakistan when majority of Christians are living in villages of Punjab province. He said that it seems that terrorists have expanded their actions in the rural areas of Pakistan when all the previous attacks were in the urban areas where the security measures are very easy for the administration.

Mr. Nazir s Bhatti said that government of Pakistan is fully aware of the profiles of the banned religious groups activists as they have been supporting them and training them under the ISI to fight in Kashmir and its easy for them to arrest all the militants in Pakistan but it seems as government is not serious to arrest all of those militants and to end terrorism against Christians in Pakistan. Mr. Bhatti said that government also knows the threats of these militant groups before the war against terrorism in Afghanistan when the religious decrees were issued by them to kill two Christians in Pakistan on killing of one Muslim by the hands of Allied Forces in Afghanistan.

Mr. Bhatti said that PCC condole the families of the Christian martyrs of Chianwali church and urge the government to arrest the militants involved.
